Supporting the Armed Forces community

Supporting ex-forces veterans into civilian careers

St. Modwen is a proud signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant and recognises the enormous value that serving personnel, veterans, and military families contribute to our country, our communities, and our businesses. Equality, diversity and inclusion are integral to all that we do and we are committed to ensuring a safe, inclusive and agile work environment where all talent can thrive.

We know that a career in the military requires dedication, commitment and drive and helps develop leadership and problem-solving skills that are second to none. These values and attributes are at the heart of our company ethos here at St. Modwen and we are committed to supporting ex-forces personnel to make the transition into civilian roles, providing a supportive environment where members of the Armed Forces community can develop and grow.

Our forces-friendly policies

As part of our Responsible Business Ambitions we have made clear commitments to offering forces-friendly policies and supporting people with military connections within our business. This includes:

  • 5 days additional paid leave for Reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers

  • Flexible working arrangements to support family members of those in the Armed Forces or Reservists, particularly during periods of deployment

  • Large and growing internal network of colleagues with a connection to the Armed Forces and resources to signpost relevant services.

We remain committed to providing sustainable employment opportunities and work with partners such as the Careers Transition Partnership (CTP), Forces Family Jobs (FFJ) and Morson Forces to actively promote job vacancies and connect with the wider Forces community.
