The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Company Health, Safety (HS)& Environmental standards are high and consistently applied within the regional business. Manage a team of regional H&S Advisors within the regional business as part of regional senior management team.

Other Key Tasks will include.

• Ensure compliance is maintained to all applicable statutory requirements at all operating locations (sites/sales customer service) within the defined region.
• Ensure site/office inspections are undertaken at predetermined periods and prepare inspection reports and identify trends and areas of improvement.
• Support and facilitate liaison with enforcing authorities to maintain their confidence & respect and ensure that all sites have registered with the relevant enforcing authorities as necessary. Monitoring:
• Check there are effective considerations and risk reduction strategies from pre-construction through to Customer Service in place for all operating locations.
• Check non-compliance in relation to H&S from both internal and external audits
• Lead on the preparation of H,S & Environmental reports for all relevant meetings within regional business
• Ensure regular regional reporting deadlines are achieved and information is accurate and on time
• As part of Personal Best, provide coaching and regular feedback to maximise performance delivery and development, encouraging collaboration and empowerment.
• Maintain knowledge and adhere to relevant Group Policies and Procedures, Legislation and Regulations

The Candidate
• Aligned to current thinking on H&S practice and up to date knowledge on current H,S & Environmental Legislation & Best Practice
• Proactive, engaging and positive attitude to the promotion of H,S & Environmental excellence
• Ability to identify solutions to identified problems.
• Effective within a team and across a diverse working environment
• An active champion of the BMOS to lead and coach colleagues and workforce.
• Experience within a similar H&S role within the Construction industry
• CMIOSH (working towards)
• NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ qualified.
• NEBOSH Construction certificate
• CSCS card • Detailed knowledge of CDM Regulations
• AIEMA preferred • Full driving licence.
• Management systems development and implementation
• Line management experience
